Can Dogs Eat Curry Powder?

No, you should avoid giving your dog curry powder. It is a combination of spices, some of which can be toxic to dogs.

Curry powder is made of various spices including coriander, cumin, ginger, black pepper, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, garlic, and onion. While some of these spices are safe for your dog, others are not. For example, you should never give your dog garlic or onion and cayenne pepper can upset their stomach.

Since there is not a universal curry powder recipe or blend, it is suggested to avoid giving it to your dog. If your dog does end up eating curry or curry powder, they may experience vomiting, nausea, and/or diarrhea. If the curry powder they consumed is spicy, they will experience symptoms at a higher intensity. As always, if you are concerned or have other questions, contact your veterinarian.
